Description: Jyoti 1760 is an off white colored filled, solvent less epoxy compound. Jyoti FIL 160 is a specially formulated and processed to obtain void free casting, potting encapsulated components.
It contains specially selected and processed fillers incorporated under vacuum mixing & has lower abrasive nature. It is ready to use filled system having low viscosity at processing temperature. Jyoti FIL 160 can be used with Jyoti Hardener 1760 as a heat curing system.

Jyoti FIL 160 in combination with Jyoti  Hardener 1760 has the following characteristics:
  • Good adhesion to most organic and inorganic materials
  • Good mechanical and electrical properties combined with good chemical and water resistance
  • Fast curing
  • Low coefficient of linear expansion
  • Increased thermal conductivity.

Areas of Application:
Jyoti FIL 160 in combination with Jyoti  Hardener 1760 is suitable for:
  • Casting, potting and sealing of small & medium sized electrical electronic components.
  • Casting of switch gear components and insulators
  • Potting of instrument transformers
  • Application where moderate curing temperatures are of advantage
  • Topping of capacitors as sealant.

Properties of cured material: The cured mass of Jyoti FIL 160+ Jyoti  Hardener 1760 shows good mechanical, electrical & chemical properties. Because of special type of fillers in Jyoti FIL 160, the cured mass shows good thermal shock resistance, reduced shrinkage, low coefficient of thermal expansion & increased thermal conductivity. The combination of Jyoti FIL 160, Jyoti Hardener 1760 is used in thermal class 155 (class F) electrical components.

Application Method:
Jyoti FIL 160 contains filler, which have tendency to settle on long storage. Jyoti FIL 160, should therefore, be stirred to a homogenous mixture, each time it is drawn from the container. Jyoti  Hardener 1760 should be melted separately. The molten Jyoti Hardener 1760 shall be added in Jyoti FIL 160, which is maintained at about 60-70°C. Both the components shall be mixed thoroughly. For longer pot life, cool the mixture to room temperature immediately

Addition of fillers: Dried, moisture free fillers such as silica, talc, dolomite, and mica can be incorporated depending upon the performance requirement. Fillers shall be dried in oven at 150-200°C for 4-6 hours to remove moisture. Wherever vacuum mixing facilities are available, fillers may be added to Jyoti FIL 160 under vacuum preferable at 50-60°C.

Description: Jyoti Reactive Diluent C is a mono epoxy flexibilizer and reactive diluent. It is compatible with Jyoti epoxy resins in all proportions. The flexibilized resin has excellent stability at room temperature as well as lower temperatures.

Areas of Application:
  • Jyoti Reactive Diluent C suggested for casting and potting applications, especially when sharp cornered metal inserts causes severe mechanical stresses and cracking
  • Jyoti Reactive Diluent C is suggested in coating application for improved flexibility of cured film and lowering of viscosity of the mixture
  • Jyoti Reactive Diluent C addition is also recommended for preparing laminating resin mixture for improved wet ability with glass fiber.

Properties of cured material: Addition of Jyoti Reactive Diluent C will reduces the viscosity of the liquid resin which in tern helps in improving penetration during impregnation and also allows higher filler loading during casting or potting applications. Higher filler loading in casting or potting mixtures reduces cost, improves heat conductivity and lowers the thermal expansion, shrinkage and exotherm. Jyoti Reactive Diluents C addition imparts flexibility to cured resin mass. This results in reduced mechanical stresses and improvement in impact and thermal shock resistance

Application Method:
Formulating the Flexibilized Resin System Jyoti Reactive Diluent C in required proportion is first added to DGEBA epoxy resin and mixed thoroughly to give a homogeneous mixture. Hardener is then added to the mixture. Any type of hardener is suitable for DGEBA epoxy resin + Diluent C blends. Since Diluent C is a monoepoxy, its epoxy equivalent weight must be considered in determining the correct proportion of hardener for flexibilized resin system. Additional quantity of hardener required for Jyoti Reactive Diluent C addition is indicated in Table 1. Liquid hardeners such as Hardener 1758, 17055, EH 1411 and EH 1408 are added at room temperature to DGEBA epoxy resin + Jyoti Reactive Diluent C mixture. Solid Hardener 1760 should be first heated to 95 to 100 degreeC to melt it and then added to DGEBA epoxy resin + Jyoti Reactive Diluent C mixture, which is heated to 60- 70 degreeC prior to the addition of hardener.

Description:
  • Jyoti 1762 designates a solvent-free, low viscous, epoxy based trickle resin. Furthermore, this combination is noted for its very good penetration, especially for windings with thin wires.
  • Jyoti Hardener 1762 is a polyamine with a slightly yellow and transparent appearance and a low physiological effectiveness. Curing of the resin compound is a polyaddition reaction, which occurs under the effect of heat until a duroplastic cured material is produced. Polymerisation is initiated by mixing the two components and under the effect of heat proceeds as a rapid chain-reaction until a three-dimensionally cross-linked, duroplastic cured material is produced. The material does not contain by recipe substances listed in Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive (2002/95/EC).

Areas of Application:
Preferred applications for Jyoti 1605 trickle resin combined with Jyoti Hardener 1762:
  • Repair shops
  • Windings of machines with high chemical requirements
  • Armatures of hand tools, household machines, universal motors, etc.

Properties of cured material:
  • After curing there is a hard cured material, which is noted for its exceptional adhesion to various materials. The cured material also displays very good resistance to tropical influences, solvents, weak lyesalkalies as well as oil and allows impregnated objects to be used even under extreme conditions.
  • The high bonding strength of this combination imparts good mechanical stability to the impregnated windings. The combination JYOTI 1605 plus JYOTI HARDENER 1762 can be used for machines in thermal class B (130??C). Owing to low volume shrinkage this combination also cures without cracks in thick layers and can thus also be used to protect the windings, e.g. from carbon brush abrasion or abrasive dusts.
  • Jyoti 1605 + Jyoti HARDENER 1762 due to its high bond strength offers increased resistance to centrifugal forces for large size armatures, thus preventing wire shifting & improving itslife. Application Method JYOTI 1605 in combination with JYOTI HARDENER 1762 can be processed in all conventional trickling plants. For a better penetration it is of advantage to reduce the viscosity of the resin by slightly raising the heating temperature. In accordance with the trickle impregnation principle, a thin stream of the activated resin is applied to the rotating and heated winding. The resin immediately adopts the temperature of the windings, becomes considerably more thin-fluid and distributes itself uniformly throughout the winding as a result of rotation and capillary forces. The pre- heating temperature of the objects should range between 800C and 1200C. Gelling and curing usually occurs in a circulating air oven or by current heating under rotation.
  • The typical trickle process parameters are as follows :Pre-heating to 100-110°C for 2-15 min.,rotation 20-30 rpm, inclination angle 8-10° trickling and gelling at 90- 100°C curing at 120-130°C for 5-30.
